My mobile station is in my pickup truck and consists of two Motorola radios: a mobile for 2m and a portable for 70cm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Motorola XPR4550 VHF<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For 2m I&#8217;ve got the VHF version of the Motorola XPR4550 in my pickup truck. It is the 25W model. Like most commercial VHF radios it covers 136-174 MHz. And the ability to organize channels into zones is great for anyone who travels. It is the best VHF radio I have ever used. Comet also made a fender mount bracket specifically for my truck that fits like a glove. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We like to camp in the Rocky Mountains and foothills in western Alberta which means we are often in areas where there is no cellular coverage.
